Invitation for Applications – Faculty Position in Environmental Ecology

        The School of Environmental Science and Engineering (CESE), Tongji University at Shanghai, China, invites applications for a position of Assistant Professor in environmental ecology. We seek applications from outstanding candidates worldwide. For the position, a strong publication record, teaching experience and research collaboration are required. Teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels will be expected, as well as supervision of graduate students.

 

        This position requires an earned Ph.D. degree in ecology with specialization in physiology. The successful candidate will participate in the development of a joint Sino-Canadian undergraduate (2+2) program and the administration of the Sino-Canada Center for Sustainable Development. Candidates familiar with Canadian education systems are preferred.

 

        Salary is competitive, negotiable and commensurate with qualifications. The university will also provide a full benefit package of full time staff of the university. College Profile

-  The School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Tongji University was one of the earliest established colleges dedicated to environmental education and research in China. Its predecessor was the Department of Health Engineering established in 1952 and later the Department of Environmental Engineering in 1978. Currently, the School comprises three specialty branches: Environmental Engineering, Municipal Engineering (Water Supply and Sewerage Engineering), and Environmental Science, all with undergraduate, master, doctoral, and postdoctoral programs. In order to promote the research and education in the field of global environment issues and sustainable development, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development (IESD) was co-established by UNEP and Tongji University in 2002.
